Left: The background is selected because it’s easier
to select than the more complex vase of flowers.
Centre: The Inverse command is used to flip the selection,
so that the vase and flowers are selected instead of the background.
Right: The selected vase and flowers can then be altered in whatever
way you want, such as by being cut from the background as here.
